METRO VR STUDIOS at MONTREAL INT’L GAME SUMMIT

Showcasing a Suite of VR Game Titles in the ‘City of Festivals’

Boston, MA: November 10, 2018 MetroVR Studios, Inc., (MVRS) a Boston-based start-up VR game development company, announced they will be showcasing at the 15th Montreal International Games Summit (MIGS) convention in Montreal, Canada November 12 - 13, 2018 with several of their upcoming VR titles, including the soon-to-be released Orion13SM.

Founded in 2004, MIGS is the largest video games industry event on the East Coast with more than 3,000 attendees from 20+ countries. The Montreal International Game Summit will bring together hundreds of international experts to one of the largest hubs of video game development in the world so that they can share their knowledge with the local and international developers attending the event.

The Metro VR Studios executive team has decades of experience working in Montreal, beginning in 2000 with their award-winning e-commerce software Online MerchantSM and the shopping portal BuyItOnline.comSM, which became the e-commerce platforms for AOL Canada and the Royal Bank of Canada.

“Montreal has one of the greatest video game development ecosystems in the world,” said Scott Matalon, Co-Founder and President of Metro VR Studios. “Coming to MIGS feels like returning to our home-away-from home in yet another exciting and cutting-edge moment in time. We couldn't be more pleased to seek out new partnerships for our VR initiatives here in Québec's high-tech metropolis.”

“Montreal's game industry is booming right now, with an especially strong focus on AI and VR,” said Brian Levine, VP of Business Development at Metro VR Studios and a Québec native.

“Canada's commitment to the cutting-edge of high technology has attracted some of the world's greatest talent, and we are proud to showcase Metro VR Studios at this very exciting event.”

Michael Clebnik, CEO of MVRS, adds, “Although we are primarily focused on our upcoming release of Orion13SM at this time, MIGS gives us the opportunity to gather feedback and advice across our entire development queue. The assistance we have received from the Canadian government in particular has helped us create a host of very strategic connections that will be invaluable to us as we move forward.”

Designed for experienced VR headset owners, Orion13SM provides a unique VR game experience. Orion13SM is the complex and challenging first-person, story-based adventure of a newly self-aware combat robot's epic journey to ‘go home.’ Set in a robot-ruled society, Orion13SM features open locomotion with full-body Inversive Kinematics, fast-paced hack-and-slash sword-fighting, interactive friends and enemies, and a pumping original electronic score.
